There are two methods for creating and changing a label, which are
outlined below.
METHOD 1: TOOLS MENU
This method is recommended if you are creating a new label document.
- Create a new Word Processor document.
- From the Tools menu, choose Envelopes And Labels.
- Click Mailing Labels.
- Type the label information or choose the Fields button at the
bottom to add fields from a database.
NOTE: You cannot type field placeholders. To add field placeholders,
use the Fields button at the bottom of the screen.
- From the Label Style box, choose your label type. If your label
style is not listed, select Custom Label and enter the correct
measurements.
- Choose Create Label.
METHOD 2: INSERT MENU
This method is recommended if you are changing an existing label.
However, it can also be used for creating new labels.
Changing an Existing Label- Open your label document.
- Place the cursor where you would like to insert additional fields.
- From the Insert menu, choose Database Field and place the fields
directly into the label, in the location you want them.
Creating New Labels- Create a new Word Processor document.
- Type the label information or choose Database Field from the
Insert menu to add fields from a database.
- Select all the label information that you have just entered,
and from the Tools menu, choose Envelopes And Labels.
- Click Mailing Labels.
- From the Label Style box, choose your label type. If your label
type is not listed, choose Custom Label and enter the correct
measurements.
- Choose Create Label.
OPTIONAL: If you will not be creating a form letter that contains the
label information, delete the label information that is located on the
main document below the page break.
NOTE: If you forgot to add a field(s) in the label after it was
created, the best way to add these is to place the fields directly
into the envelope by choosing Database Field from the Insert menu.
This is recommended because label formatting (such as bold, font
sizes, clip art, and so on) will be lost if you simply select your
fields and choose Envelopes And Labels from the Tools menu.
