The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server 3.1
This article was previously published under Q106554 SYMPTOMS
When you configure Windows NT to use the BusLogic BT-542B SCSI host
adapter, you may receive the following STOP message after you restart the
system:
STOP: 0x0000007B (parameter, parameter, parameter, parameter)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
CAUSE
This problem may occur because the BusLogic SCSI adapter is configured
incorrectly. The BT-542B can be configured to use both an AT IRQ
setting and a Host IRQ setting. These must match for Windows NT to
correctly access any devices attached to the adapter.
NOTE: There may be other causes for the above error message.
RESOLUTION
To eliminate the error message and use Windows NT, set the AT IRQ and
Host IRQ to the same IRQ.
