ACC: Formatted Colors Do Not Appear in Text (104566)

SYMPTOMS

A text box control does not display text in the color that you specified. Instead, the text is displayed as if you did not specify any color.

CAUSE

If you specify a color without a format in the Format property for a text box, no color will be displayed.

RESOLUTION

Specify both a format and a color in the Format property for the text box.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior


  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb (or NWIND.MDB in versions 1.x or 2.0). Open the Orders Subform form in Design view.
  2. Change the Format property of the Discount text box as follows:

    Format: [Red];;[Yellow]
  3. Save and close the form.
  4. Open the Orders form in Form view. Note that the Discount field is not displayed in color.
  5. Close the Orders form. Open the Orders Subform form in Design view.
  6. Change the Format property of the Discount field as follows:

    Format: 0.00%[Red];;0.00%[Yellow]
  7. Save and close the form.
  8. Open the Orders form in Form view. Note that the values in the Discount field are displayed in red or yellow.
NOTE: To return the Orders subform back to normal, open the form in Design View and change the Format of the Discount text box control back to percentage by selecting it from the combo box.
