Windows NT Does Not Have Ability to Force a User to Log Off (104194)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server 3.1
This article was previously published under Q104194 SUMMARY
Windows NT does not provide the ability to force a user to log off a
computer after a period of inactivity by default.
You can add this capability programmatically to Windows NT with a screen
saver that calls the ExitWindowsEx API. Third-party application vendors
may provide a forced logoff solution, but it is not included with Windows
NT.
