Text that Exceeds the Column Width Is Always Left-Aligned (102631)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 2.0
- Microsoft Works 2.0a
This article was previously published under Q102631 SYMPTOMS
In the Works spreadsheet and database list view, individual cells can
be formatted as left, center, or right-aligned. If a cell contains
text that exceeds the column's width, the cell contents will always be
left-aligned, regardless of the alignment you choose.
This behavior is different from Microsoft Excel where the cell's text
contents will display and print using the alignment you choose
regardless of column width or the number of characters in the cell.
MORE INFORMATION
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Works for
Windows versions 2.0 and 2.0a. We are researching this problem and
will post new information here as it becomes available.
NOTE: When text exceeds the column width in Works, the text will be
truncated if there is data in the corresponding right cell. This is by
design.
