The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server 3.1
This article was previously published under Q102405 SYMPTOMS
WinSleuth Gold returns inaccurate disk information.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because WinSleuth Gold reads the CMOS ports to
determine how many physical hard disks the system has and what type
numbers they are. In Windows NT, the virtual DOS machine (VDM) doesn't
access the physical hard disk so there is no way to correctly report
information with this application.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, use Windows NT Setup or Control Panel to
get the desired system information.
