SYMPTOMS

Works 3.0 and Later

When you print a database from the Form view of Works with text or fields placed over the vertical page break or on the horizontal page break, you receive one of the following error messages:
Field or Object Off Page. Continue?

-or-

Some fields, labels or objects are past the right edge or bottom of the page and may not print. Continue?
If you click OK, the document prints but leaves off the field. If you click Cancel, you will return to the form.

Works 2.0 and 2.0a

In Works 2.o and 2.0a, this occurs when printing a database from the Form view of Works with text or fields placed over the vertical page break, you will receive the following error message:
Form too wide: print anyway?
If you choose OK, you will receive the following error message:
Fields too wide for page and may not print.
If you place text or fields over a horizontal page break, you will receive the following error message:
Fields too wide for page and may not print.
In either case, at this point, you can choose OK to continue with the print job or choose Cancel to abort the printout. If you choose to continue with the print job, Works will print only the text and fields that completely fit on the page.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, do one of the following:

  • Move all the fields and text off of the page breaks that are covered on the form.

    -or-

  • Remove the page breaks that have fields or text over them.
NOTE: You cannot remove the Works default horizontal and vertical page breaks.
