SUMMARY

An updated version of the Windows NT Hewlett-Packard Network Port printer driver, HPMON.DLL, is now available as a hotfix on a number of electronic services.

This hotfix has not been fully regression-tested and may be destabilizing in production environments. Microsoft does not recommend implementing this hotfix without first testing it in a trial environment. Use this hotfix at your own risk.

HPMON.EXE is a self-extracting archive file containing the updated HPMON.DLL drivers for Intel, Alpha and MIPS platforms.

To Apply the Hotfix

  1. Download the file HPMON.EXE.
  2. Copy the file to a directory on your hard drive.
  3. Type the command "HPMON -D" (without the quotation marks) and press ENTER. The -D switch creates directories for the expanded files.
  4. Change to the appropriate directory for your computer (I386, Alpha, or MIPS).
  5. Run the UPDATE.EXE program.
  6. Restart your computer.
