Printing Security Defaults (101873)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server 3.1
This article was previously published under Q101873 SUMMARY
By default, Administrators and Power Users (in addition to Print
Operators and System Operators on Windows NT Advanced Server) have
full control over local printers. Other users have print access. The
creator/owner of a document can administer only that document.
The permissions can be changed by choosing Permissions from the
Security menu in Print Manager.
Full control access is required to pause or resume a printer, or to
set its properties. Print access permits a user to view the documents
on a printer and to submit documents.
