DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq creates files that contain a binary image for the System ROM for 
the Compaq Evo D500, D300 and W4000 models with a 686Y2 Family ROM.  

This SoftPaq is used to flash the System ROM on target PCs on a network, and it 
requires System Software Manager (SSM) or Remote Management Setup.

The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by 
pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and 
viewing File/System Information.  This information can be saved into a text 
file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.

ENHANCEMENTS: 
Adds BIOS DMA support for IDE hard drive services. This reduces the time 
required to boot, resume from hibernation, and perform drive imaging under 
DOS.

BIOS enables Power Managment Event (PME) for IBM TR PCI Management NICs. FIXES: Works around a possible programming issue with the STMicro Fimware Hub.

Corrects and issue sometimes seen where IDE Defaults translation mode was seen incorrectly after doing a restore from CPQSETUP.TXT on diskette.

Resets the IDE Default settings when upgrading an existing ROM (v2.09 or earlier) to a ROM that supports the programmable IDE Defaults. PREREQUISITES: N/A INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. Refer to the remote utility documentation for instructions on creating a Remote ROM Flash job to flash the System ROM on target PCs on the network.
