DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq creates files that contain a binary image for the System ROM for 
the Compaq Evo D500, D300 and W4000 models with a 686Y2 Family ROM.  

This SoftPaq is used to flash the System ROM on target PCs on a network, and it 
requires System Software Manager (SSM) or Remote Management Setup.

The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by 
pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and 
viewing File/System Information.  This information can be saved into a text 
file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.

ENHANCEMENTS: 
Enhances Disk-on-Key support to improve portability between 
platforms.

Ensures the Master Password can be set or changed, even when Drivelock is currently disabled.

Ensures the diskette controller is enabled when entering Bootblock Emergency Recovery mode to permit booting from a ROMPaq diskette.

Maximizes the use of DCH memory space for option ROM. FIXES: Corrects the memory and I/O conflicts introduced under F10 Setup when disabling/enabling/changing IRQ for PCI devices or when swapping the primary VGA if multiple VGA adapters are in the system.

Allows the system to boot even if the video option ROM's checksum is not valid. This is for a video adapter with an option ROM that does not update its own checksum after execution. PREREQUISITES: N/A INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. Refer to the remote utility documentation for instructions on creating a Remote ROM Flash job to flash the System ROM on target PCs on the network.
