Readme.txt for UMan.exe Date: October 6th, 1998 Name: Unreal Manager (UMan) Version: 1.01.0016 OS: Windows 95/98 Email: jfmiller@usa.net Web Address: http://members.xoom.com/JFMiller/ Status: freeware The function of this program started out to be a program to help start Unreal. But expanded into helping server admin to start an Unreal server. The features are the ability to use skin packages, which have a starting name, of what class they belong to (example: Female1Custom.utx). A CommandLine is built so you know what options are being used. You then can save that as a batch file so you can run it later or make many batch files that start up Unreal the way you want it. The other features are the ability to Open and Save INI files and to edit parts of them to help with server admin. Instructions on use: Some of the text boxes only need to be clicked to bring up a browser for example the levelname: click it and you will see a directory of your \Unreal\Maps\ . Click the ? Button next to anything for a brief description of the option. To use a custom skin click Skin Packages this will bring up a directory of your \Unreal\Textures\ , you then need to select a Skin Package such as Femal1Skins.utx if you choose a non-Skin Package it will select Female1Skins.utx as default. Then choose your skin from package below that. If you want to play a multiplayer game type in a server address in the server box or select ?listen option to host a dedicated server select -server option checkboxes when checked are true. Open up an INI file to edit some parts of it for server admin like Game features and BotInfo. There is a FavoritesMenu editor to manage your favorites. Click on <- button to send the server address to the server CommandLine make sure to save your INI files often. There is a menu option to shut down UMan after Launch if it is checked you will loose any INI info you have chosen. I also added the Skin Package selector for the BotInfo section so you can use those custom skins for bot play. This program is still in BETA format, which means there maybe problems or bugs. Please email any comments or complaints to jfmiller@usa.net. Problems please email me if there are any. None problems with no none solution: 1. Program crashes when selecting a Map 2. Program crashes when launching Unreal
