=========== Quake Name Maker v1.02 README.TXT ============ (Last updated 5/31/98) Please see the online help file I have included in the zip files. Fire up your web browser and point it to the file "qnmhelp.htm" which should be located in the same directory as QNM. This pages includes in depth help about QNM. This is only a general description of what QNM is. Introduction ============ Quake Name Maker is the BEST Quake Name Maker and animator and macro maker. Big claim but after using the program one time I think you will agree. Utilizing a Win95 GUI you can click your new name instead of the old fashion Dos Edit way. All available letters and symbols are displayed onscreen. Make up to 90 names simultaneously to create unique animation sequences. Use the Animation Wizard to automatically create the animations. Support has been added for any Quake TC or PC that uses an alternative character set, including Hexen2. ShareWare ========= As of Version 0.70 QNM is shareware. Registering QNM is only $10 US Dollars. Registering removes the delay on startup and removes the nag the periodically appears when using QNM. I did not take away from the program to make it Shareware. To register send me a check / money order to here: Tony Browneller 13 GrayWood Rd. Baltimore Md. 21222 After the check / money order clears you will receive the registration number via email to enter in QNM. Be sure to send your email address so that I may send you the registration number. Online registration is available, so check the website. Requirements: ============= - Windows95 or WindowsNT 4.0 - 8mb RAM - Pentium Processor or better to play Quake - Mouse or equivalent pointing device - Visual Basic 5.0 32-bit runtime files (see below) Installation: ============= QNM is released 2 ways. The first includes the setup program and all of the run time files required for QNM to operate. You would just run the setup program to install QNM. The second option is available if you already have the NECESSARY run time files listed below. This option contains just the basic program and a few files needed to run QNM. 1. qnmver100full.zip (Setup program and all rt files(dll's)) 2. qnmver100exec.zip (Just the basics, no rt files(dll's)) If updating from a previous version you probably only need the exec, so you would only have to unzip the files and overwrite the old ones. Required Runtime Files: ======================= These are all of the required run time files needed to run QNM. These are Visual Basic 5.0 files. All of these are included in the Full Install from the QNM website. MSVBVM50.dll StdOle2.tlb OleAut32.dll OlePro32.dll AsycFilt.dll Ctl3d32.dll ComCat.dll COMCTL32.OCX COMDLG32.OCX Features: ========= - The BEST way to create animated names, names and macros for Quake, Hexen2 or whatever! - Win95 GUI - All available characters on one screen. - Automatically Animate the name using the Animation Wizard. - View the animation and adjust the speed. - Keyboard support just like an editor, or use the mouse. - Shareware ==== History ==== (as of version 1.02) 1.02 - Bug Fixes 1.
