*THE MISSING FILE PROBLEM Fellow Quakers, I recieved mail from several users of Qasc about a problem with a missing OCX file. If you're one of the people who've encountered this, do not hesitate. It happens that I uploaded a prerelease of Qasc by accident before I really completed the piece. And Unfortunately that version was kind of stripped off. It didn't include all the files needed to run the program. This note should come with a new zip file of everything else that adds up to 2.59 megabytes (scary, eh?). If it's smaller, it's the wrong one and I suggest you to keep on searching. This may take some time to download, but I believe if it were installed correctly, it would be totally worth it. I appreciate your concern. -=[ALPHA]=- *CONTENTS OF THIS PACK: Qascv121.zip & Readme.txt *HOW TO INSTALL: Unzip the Qascv121.zip into a clean directory in your hard drive, and run the setup wizard. It will guide you through the rest of the setup procedures. *ABOUT THE PRODUCT: Qasc is a program designed to make use of ascii charactors that show up as funky symbols in Quake. Conventional methods of doing this requires lots of time spent on testing and comparing results in Quake and text editors, which may be very time consuming. Because of this, Qasc was created. It makes things a lot easier. *FUNCTIONS: Qasc provides: ascii nickname formation, the forming of nicknames containing ascii charactors; nickname animation, The animating of nicknames; flood sign formation, the forming of large signs that can be displayed on the top of the screen during gameplay; script editing, the creating and editing of Quake scripts. Most of these are automated, thus saving lots of your time. *RELEASE NOTES: Current version is 1.21. Finished on April 2, 1997. First public release. *TECHNICAL: Some problems such as missing dlls and ocxs may occur due to the lack of testing of this program on foreign platforms. If you happen to get these errors running Qasc, please send a brief description of it via e-mail to the address mentioned in the "FEEDBACK" section of this readme. So I can fix it in my next release. *THE AUTHUR: I am <ƒ[ALPHA]ƒ> in Quake games, OPphobiac on IRC.
