Quake DirX v1.0 (C) 1996 Andrew Walbert Quake DirX is a batch program for QuakeX, the first PAK entry extractor. QDIRX.BAT will extract every entry from the PAK file. Future versions will allow you to choose what you want to extract. (Ex. Sounds only, or, Sounds and Lumps...) Included in the with Quake DirX is a text file (QPAKDIR.TXT) that lists all of the entries in the default Quake PAK file. That text file was used as the base for writing the QDIRX.BAT file. Even though the batch file is rather long, it is fairly straightfoward, so you shouldn't encounter any problems with it's use. If you do, however, you can contact me by e-mail at: awalbert@bigfoot.com Also, you can obtain the latest version of Quake DirX from my Quake web site at: http://3dgames.simplenet.com/quake/ Quake DirX includes a text file (QEDITING.TXT) explaining what tools to use for editing the different types of data within Quake. It is a text translation of the web version at: http://3dgames.simplenet.com/quake/editing_quake.htm Note: If your AUTOEXEC.BAT file loads SHARE.EXE at startup, you will need to disable SHARE before running Quake DirX. See your MS-DOS manual for instructions. -Andrew Walbert (Known as Grave to everyone on the DoomGate WWWBoard)
