A new Quake teamplay game, PRISON BREAK December 18, 1997 INSTALLATION: Create a "prison" directory under your "quake" directory and put the files in it. Servers run QWSV with the extra parameters: +gamedir prison Players just need to have the pak in the right directory, and join a server. HOW TO PLAY: The rules are fairly simple: 1: Kill the enemy to put him in your prison. 2: Get killed, and you go to your enemy's prison. 3: Free everyone in a prison by pressing the "release" button. This button is located in an obvious location somewhere very near the prison, and you get a frag bonus. 4: If you manage to get everyone on the enemy team into prison at one time, they are freed and everyone on your team gets a frag bonus. KNOWN BUGS: Team assignments don't persist through level changes- so check your color when a new map starts. I haven't done a whole lot of testing with alternative deathmatch and teamplay variables, so the only ones I'll guarantee to work properly are the settings in the server.cfg included. USING THE TRACTOR LIMPET: In short, the Limpet is an odd replacement for the grapple. Bind a key to impulse 44. Press it once to launch it. Once it hits something, press it again to pull toward it. Press repeatedly to keep pulling. Stop pulling and it will return in 2 seconds. You can also use impulse 45 to immediately return it, but I find it much easier to just use one impulse and wait for it to come back. HELP ME WITH MAPS: I don't have time for building a mess of levels, so I'd love some help here. Specs and a sample map file are included- see MapSpecs.txt. Any maps that I like will go into a future release. Note that I will keep doing these as long as I am seeing interest, even though I may move on to Quake II stuff myself. SOURCE CODE: The source files that I modified are inside the pak. If someone wants to make a regular Quake version to play on LANs, contact me. I am moving on to Quake 2, so I probably won't be doing the conversion myself. SPECIAL THANKS TO: Config_Guy, for inspiring the idea and helping me work out some bugs.
