Zombie Generator Here's a rather useless patch I felt like making(my 1st). It causes the zombies to 'infect' other monsters when they hit them. This means when you kill these monsters, their corpses automatically gib (even if you didn't do enough damage to make them do this normally(great fun with shamblers!)), and a zombie is spawned in their place. Zombies are immune (thank goodness!). Also, in Nightmare mode, instead of a zombie, one gets the pleasure of seeing the corpse gibbing only to find a fiend leaping at your throat. Also, for those suicidal fools, I added the Zombie gun. Pressing '6' twice will bring this up. I stole the idea of firing chunks of flesh instead of grenades from the 'gibgun' patch, but the code is original (ohhh! hard!). Anyway, the zombie gun is available when you get the grenade launcher, and uses one rocket a shot. Only monsters directly hit will become zombies. To use: create a subdir in your quake directory called zomgen (or whatever you want) i.e.: c:\quake\coolpatch put the progs.dat file from this zip in the new subdir run quake using the -game option with the name of the subdir created i.e.: quake -game coolpatch Bugs(i mean features...) * When you are playing Nightmare, and you infect a monster then kill it, I allow you to reinfect the fiend created(I know the message displayed reads 'You infected'), and this can lead to loops (i.e. infect monster, kill it, infect fiend generated, kill it, infect fiend generated, etc.). Minor bug, couldn't care less about it. * Sometimes monsters are stuck in walls (think this is fixed, tell me if it isn't) Stuff I'll get around to (This is NOT my entire life): -Make any monster in the radius of the Zombie Gun be zombified, as oppposed to any monster directly hit. -Might change it so as in Nightmare mode the infected created sometimes(rarely) turns into a Shambler. -Might make Scrags(Wizards) and other creatures also be able to infect in Nightmare. -Might make it possible to infect players (for DeathMatch) -Might make infection random (50% of infecting). Greetz: Ben Mathews (tips, help, etc.) id (duh) Um... that's about it. Disclaimer: The writer of this patch is responsible for NOTHING this program does to a user's system.
