Saturday 7/11-97 =========================== Title : Balance v.5 Filenames : balance.zip Author : Tobias Person Email Address : stureper@algonet.se Description : Small QC mod that attempts to make Quake Deathmatch more balanced, through scoring modifications Additional Credits to : id software The authors of the QuakeC manual ================================================================= Other Add-Ons by Author : The Gauss Gun (simple new weapon) http://www.cdrom.com/pub/quake/quakec/weapons/gauss.zip The Tomb (SPQ level) http://www.cdrom.com/pub/quake/levels/s-u/tomb.zip The Dark Knight's Fortress (Good SPQ level...) http://www.cdrom.com/pub/quake/levels/d-e/dknite11.zip ================================================================ * Installation * Unzip into quake\balance Run Quake -game balance DeathMatch On! * Information * This mod changes Quake's scoring system, to make more weapons than the RL and shaft useful. You now get different numbers of frags based on the difficulty of the kill: Axe = 10 frags Shotgun = 7 frags SuperSG = 5 frags NailGun = 5 frags SuperNG = 3 frags Grenade = 2 frags Rocket = 1 frag Shaft = 1 frag I've also been thinking of making the explosives do full damage to the player firing them, like in DOOM, unlike normal Quake where you only take half damage. Mail me and tell me whether this would be a good idea. This is v.5 Beta; it has not actually been tested in a DM, since I've not got a LAN full o' Quake Lovin' friends ( they're all Duck F*ckem fans...). Please try this on a LAN, or an Internet server, and mail me and tell me if it actually changes the way the game is played, your comments, suggestions, ideas etc. If your 'Net server is located in Sweden or Scandinavia, tell me so I can come and play! Also, a QW version will (probably) be out soon (Hopefully)! * Copyright / Permissions * Copyright ©1997 Tobias Persson All rights reserved.
