Woody's Silly-But-Fun Quake Patch ================================= To use: 1. Go into your Quake directory. 2. Make a directory called "woody". 3. Unzip the Zip file into it. 4. Run Quake with 'quake -game woody' 5. Death. Destruction. Fun. After seeing a variety of good patches around for Quake, I thought I would write one which incorporated all of my favourites, especially tweaked for good Deathmatch play. Most of the additional weapons are selected by simply selecting an original weapon twice: +------------------+------------------------+ | Original weapon | Selected twice | +------------------+------------------------+ | axe | shoving hands | - pushes your enemy | shotgun | pea shooter | - fires 1 slow glowing nail | super shotgun | triple fish launcher | - fires 3 exploding fish | nailgun | wobbly rocket launcher | - 5 weaving rockets | super nailgun | sniper rifle | - 10 nails in a clump | grenade launcher | cluster bomb | - grenade which explodes into 9 | rocket launcher | homing missile | - needs 4 rockets per missile | lightning gun | proximity mine | - explodes when enemy nearby +------------------+------------------------+ Also in this patch: * Impulse 12 throws a backpack containing some ammo for your friends * Impulse 13 commits suicide in an explosive manner (need 40 health or less) * Impulse 98 fires a grappling hook; impulse 97 destroys it * Impulse 99 spawns a Holoquaker - uses 10 cells, and lasts for 30 seconds * Weapons now respawn after 1 second in deathmatch games * Health can go up to 250, never rotting down * Picking up a weapon in deathmatch does not autoselect it (this is better) * Extra silly death (and suicide) messages * Message Of The Day when others connect to your server * Help commands ('help-server' for list) * Objects can be teleported -Andrew Wood http://www.cus.umist.ac.uk/~vivaldi/ (February 1997)
