Title : Doctor Who Quake Filename : dalek.zip Date : 07/9/97 Author : Christian Darkin Email : christian@darkin.demon.co.uk Credits : Quake TM (C)1996 id Software, Inc. All Rights Reserved Type of Modification -------------------- Graphics and Sounds (including model skins and a new model) Deathmatch : no Single Player : yes Quake C : no Sound : yes MDL : yes Graphics : yes Description Etc. ------------------------------- Four species of the Doctor's most well known enemies team up (rather improbably) In this Quake conversion. You find yourself on board a freighter, locked in a small anti-room just off the main control centre (as happens in all good Doctor Who stories). The door is guarded by two cybermen, but you suspect that deeper in the ship, other enemies await... Your task? To get off the ship alive - by any means possible. To install: 1. Make a directory (folder) within your Quake directory. Call it "drwho" 2. Use WinZip or some other Zip utility to extract everything from the zip file into your new directory. 3. Run Quake with the following command: quake -game drwho +map episode1 You can use this level, or any of the files included in it to make your own levels - let me know if you do, though. It should be pretty easy to extract any of the models, skins, sounds, etc to put in your own levels. I've also put in a little extra one room level at the end. It's basically the TARDIS console room (with no monsters). When you hit the button on the console, it loads up a level called episode1.bsp - the idea is that if you make your own Doctor Who levels, you can use the console.bsp file as a whoey way to get into it. Just call your level episode1.bsp and get people to load the console level, and they will appear to get into your level by landing the TARDIS. Pointless but fun. Enjoy. Oh, and don't come running to me if your computer can't take the action. PS - don't try selling this level - it's freeware and should remain so. Christian Darkin.
