It may run slow on lower spec machines. Also, it was designed by a stick-in-the-mud keyboard player who has not yet mastered a mouse in Quake. You 'mouse magicians' may find it a little too easy. If so, I can only apologise: me and the kids like it!! * how to * Unzip all files into your Quake\id1\maps directory. Start Quake and bring down the console. Type MAP FMB4, press Return. The level will then load and away you go! ==================================================================== Other information: total brushes : 1750 total monsters : 106 but don't forget the fishes. Also, you can only get 100% if you find three out four secrets. total secrets : 4 scattered throughout the level; all with a small reward, some with monsters! wad used : Quake101.wad compile machine : Mesh 133M Pentium, 32M RAM ==================================================================== There seems to be a shortage of good ol' Quake 1 levels now that Quake 2 is out. I don't like Quake 2, I don't think it has half the atmosphere that Quake 1 has. But the girls only play Q2 now so I have pulled all of my prefab'd areas from the hard drive, put them into one level, 'themed' the textures a little and put some villains in. As this level is cobbled together from 'rooms' which were not used in my other levels, the general theme doesn't quite work. But as always, I enjoyed making it so I hope you enjoy playing it. The level is built for keyboard players so 'mousers' might find some parts too easy. However, some may find certain areas too hard. Just remember to think how the monsters react - use them to fight each other, and use their own size against themselves. If anyone would like the whole MAP file, or the individual maps of the various rooms - sewer, cavern/castle?, secret1, secret2, big hall etc. contact me and I can e-mail to you. You are welcome to use them in whole, or in part, in your own work. Alternatively, if you would like me to make it more difficult, with more monsters, let me know. ==================================================================== * legal stuff * You may distribute the fmb4.bsp file as long as you include this text file with it.
