File Name : Dethtrap.bsp Author : Rick Troppman E-mail Address : troppman@accessone.com Additional Credits : Special Thanks to Ben Morris and anyone else who is involved in the creation of WorldCraft. I just received a copy of WorldCraft 1.3 the day after completing this level. It looks really good so, thanks Ben! Michael Stokes for DOOMTEX, Doom to Quake Texture Converter. Also a hearty thanks goes out to The cool people at id Software without whom, all this fun stuff would not even exist. Another Special Thanks : This one goes to Crash who is honest in his level evaluation critiques. I think that can only help people to see their shortcomeings and kick their ass in the right direction. Beta Testers : Special thanks to Richard Carlson of Ion Storm for beta testing. All of Rich's great Quake Levels are available at his website; http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Alley/6181/index.html Also many of his levels are available at my site; http://www.accessone.com/~troppman/quake.htm You may link to Richard's site "Zdim's Weapon Rack" from my page at; http://www.accessone.com/~troppman/links.htm Also thanks to my other beta testers Ryan Hamilton and Dave Rains. If you would be interested in getting on my beta testers list, give me a "shout" at troppman@accessone.com Editor(s) used : Worldcraft 1.2 registered version; http://www.gamecraft.com/ DOOMTEX: Doom Texture Converter; http://www.psinet.net.au/~stokfam/ ================================================================ * Play Information * Game : Quake 1.06 Episode : The Death Trap Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes Deathmatch : yes Difficulty Settings : Very little New Sounds : no New Graphics : Some Doom Graphics Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Build Time : About 30 hours (or so) Editor(s) used : Worldcraft Version 1.2 Known Bugs : NONE * To Run This Quake BSP File * 1. Create an maps directory off of id1 (c:\quake\id1\maps) 2. UnZip dethtrap.bsp into the c:\quake\id1\maps directory. 3. Start Quake 4. At the console (~), type "map dethtrap" * If you Have any Problems starting this level * You may need to start quake with a command line something like this; quake -winmem 10 Or you can edit your q95.bat something like this; qlaunch quakeudp.dll quake.exe -winmem 16 -winlock 16 -mpath %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 (all on one line of course) (The important one is; "-winmem 16") On my machine I tried -winmem 16 down to -winmem 9 and it worked fine. But if you go to -winmem 8, which is what quake defaults to anyway, it doesnt seem to have enough memory. In any event, to run The Death Trap you'll need more than 8 mb of memory.
