================================================================ Title : BadLand1 : "Break-In" Filename : badland1.bsp Author : Chris Spain Email Address : cspain@eutelsat.fr Description : A military mission for one agent. Release Notes : Version 3. Difficulty levels added. ================================================================ * Play Information * Single Player : yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : yes Deathmatch : possible, but not ideal Difficulty Settings : yes New Sounds/Graphics : no * Map Notes * PLOT: The forces of evil are believed to be operating from a secret base in the area, most likely on an uninhabited island. Military Intelligence (huh?) has decided that the only way to find and destroy this base is to allow one of our best agents to be taken captive in the hope that the enemy will take them to the island where they can then escape and wreak havoc. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but now that we've lost agents 001 through 007, we're down to YOU, agent 008. YOU are now the agent chosen for this task. Don't let us down. Oh, and errr Good luck! So now you find yourself in the hold of a small enemy boat. It's been chugging for hours through the sea, but it seems like it's finally arrived somewhere... As the boat slows down, you hear what sounds like massive steel doors opening... The boat moves forward again then comes to a halt as you hear the doors close once more. There's only one guard inside the boat and you reckon you just might be able to grab that handy shotgun while he's not looking... AUTHOR'S NOTES: I wanted to try making a level just to see what could be done in Quake, but when I downloaded some early editors they seemed to be pretty limited. With the help of the Quake MAP Specs I started making a small level by writing a .MAP file directly. After a while it seemed that I might as well carry on writing the level that way. I finished it back in October '96, but I've only just got round to putting it on the Net. VERSION 3: This is version 3 of the level, with the same reinforced enemies, and beefed-up ending as version 2, but with difficulty levels added (Version 2 is equivalent to HARD difficulty level). To select a difficulty level, you should start from the BadLands map, which lets you choose the difficulty and then enables you to access BadLand1. PERFORMANCE: This level runs OK in 640x480 resolution on my 166, but you may have to use a lower resolution on slower machines. * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : None. MAP file written by hand. Known Bugs : None, which isn't to say there aren't any! * Legal Stuff * You may distribute this level freely, as long as you include this text file and give me credit. However, this level may not be included in any commercial compilation or product without my express permission.
