Capture The Flag Player Skin Replacement ][ -------------------------------------------- Included files: player.mdl ctfskin2.bmp Authors: Ryan Lacouture (changed color of it, did helmet) id Software (they created most of it) Author e-mail: vallore@wt.net Author Home/Clan Page: http://web.wt.net/~vallore Description: This is a replacement for the standard Player skin. The new CTFSKIN2 is similar to the original, but with 3 exceptions. I have added a helmet, the visor of the helmet uses the pants color, whereas the helmet uses the shirt colors. Also, the shoulder pads now use the shirt color. Let me be clear, the pants-shirt-helmet visor use the pants color, and the shoulder pads-helmet use the shirt colors. Notes: I wasn't going to make this, but I realized that the anti-crossdresser skin (ctfskin) wasn't enough. Simply eliminating the shirt color was not good for all situations. This skin will allow you to be able to clearly tell who is your teammate/opponent, but also who they are depending on if they use the shirt color. I have seen only one other skin similar for CTF, it looks like ctfskin (the original), but has the addition of shoulder pads that use the shirt colors as well. It uses the colors differently than mine. My helmet is reminiscent of DOOM I & ][. Also, David Kirsch will be using my skin for his custom version (new levels, sounds etc...) of CTF! I enjoy critisism, this skin would not have been done if I hadn't gotten feedback.Feel free to email me with any comments you have. Bugs: Bugs? You funny in the head? Well just incase for some reason you can't use the player.mdl, I have included the "ctfskin2.BMP" file for use with a MDL editor. Installation: Simply put the player.mdl file into the directory ?:\quake\ctfskin\progs\player.mdl, and load quake with "-game ctfskin" command and you are all set. To use the ctfskin.bmp you'll need a MDL utility like MedDLe 1.5 (THE BEST MDL EDITOR, IMHO) to apply it to the player model. Credits: id Software for making Quake David Kirsch for making CTF! the MOD that gives team play meaning. Also for using this skin in his custom version of CTF! Roderick Schertler the author of the other CTF skin mentioned in notes. My skin was finished before I ever became aware of his. I did not use his skin as a basis at all. Lucas Pope(lupope@vt.edu) the author of the Storm Trooper Skin Replacement. I wrote over his TXT file for the Storm Trooper, I am lazy what can I say. * This ZIP file and it's contents MAY NOT be distributed in any way except * publicly and freely, so long as it is unaltered.
