QUESS THEME by TheAvatar Intro: Quess -or Quake Chess- is a Partial Conversion for Quake made by Impact Software that lets you play chess using the Quake monsters. Its really quite a nice Mod, and it inspired me to do this Windows 95 Theme based on it. This is just a quick something I slapped together, so don't expect too much, but I like it... and I hope other Quess fans do to. Installation: You will need the following to use this Theme Windows 95 Windows 95 Plus Pack Pkunzip/Winzip/some sort of Unzipping program 1)Decompress the files into your Themes directory (usually C:\Program Files\Plus\Themes). Be sure to use the -d option with Pkunzip (or the "Use Folder Names" option in WinZip) so that the directory structure is maintained. 2)(Optional)If you do not have the Exocet Fonts, click on the Start Button, then Settings, then Control Panel, then Fonts. From the File Menu, choose "Install New Fonts", move to your Quess Theme directory (usually C:\Program Files\Plus\Themes\Quess) and select both Font files. Press OK and the new fonts will be installed. 3)To RUN the theme, go again to Control Panel and choose Desktop Themes. From the drop-down Theme Choose "Other" and then move to the Quess folder. Pick the Theme and press okay. There are two variations of the Theme. Quess800.Theme uses an 800x600 version of the background. Quess.Theme uses a reduced 640x480 version of the picture that will fit on the screen of people using the lower resolution but doesn't look as nice. Legal Stuff This Theme is free to all. I take no responsibility for any damages caused by using it. I make no claims on Microsoft's Windows95 or Plus pack trademarks, Impact Software's Quess or on Id's Quake. This is just a little thing I did for fun; don't so upset. If it doesn't work, well tough. It works for me, and its free anyway. Stop complaining. Yadda yadda yadda. All I ask is that if you distribute this stupid little thing you distrubute it with this text-file intact and unchanged, so people know who to thank (or blame :) Links: * Microsoft, who created the idea of themes (one of the few good things about Win95) http://www.microsoft.com *Id Software, who created Quake in all its configurable glory. http://www.idsoftware.com *Impact Software, who created Quess and Quake Rally, two way-cool Quake Conversions http://impact.frag.com *TheAvatar, who created the Quess Theme and not much else theavatar@hotmail.com
