Title: Old West demos(set 1 of 3) ======================================================================= File: oldwest1.zip(oldwest.dem, oldwest2.dem, oldwest3.dem ======================================================================= Setting: Oldwest.bsp, by "Vengence of the Lone Gunmen" If he is reading this by any chance, I LOVE THIS LEVEL! ======================================================================= Description: This is a collection of my experiences with oldwest.bsp, an add-on deathmatch level that was made by "Vengence of the Lone Gunmen"(lcullen@eis.net.au). There are 9 demos(if you have all three sets), ranging from oldest to newest, oldwest.dem - oldwest9.map, respectively. My experiences are with Reaper Bots(v.81) at skill 0(anything higher, and I get annhialated!), and, occasionally, my brother(although not in these, he is still addicted to anything other than what I'm playing at any particular time). I play with 16 bots, anything less and they get a chance to get at the big weapons(besides, I like a crowded game!). ====================================================================== About me and my best bud(my computer): I recieved Quake for Christmas, '96, and play it on a Packard Bell 222(avoid these if you can) Pentium 75(although it can support a 133, and I intend to buy one) that I received a week before Christmas. I play at 360x480 resolution, and have become so acustomed to it I can't play at anything less. You can see my home page at "http://grnet.com/shortc/", or email me at "short.circuit@grnet.com". I have a few GIFs on the Web as of Sunday, August 24, 1997(school starts tomorrow! AAAAHHHHH!). I have less then a megabyte of screen shots on my home page now, but I have 5Mbs(109 screen shots) of JPEGS waiting to go up when I get the space(I'm trying to negotiate by sacrificing an old 540MB hard drive, maybe I'll get 50 Mbs of it for my web page, maybe not). ======================================================================= Copyrights, etc.: I don't care what you do with these, but if you convert them to MPEGs(AVIs would be too big!), you can email them to me(my BBS supports file transfers with email). I would appreciate it. ======================================================================= Distribution: You may distribute this file any way, including but not limited to, electronic, mechanical, writing on paper(although I wouldn't recommend THIS(unless you're trying to practice your handwriting)), or having some futeristic spaceship create an exact replica, etc., as long as you keep this file and all files therin intact and unchanged. ======================================================================= Advertisements: Visit my parent's BBS at "http://www.grnet.com". I'm 14 years old, and am known as "Short Circuit" there. I did NOT name myself after the movie, although I like that too. ======================================================================= Locations: This SHOULD be up on Walnut Creek CDROM(http://www.cdrom.com or ftp://cdrom.com/pub/), and wherever else anybody else wants it(if you want it on your homepage, EMAIL ME!, I might help you out, or visit your page!). ======================================================================= Requests: PLEASE! Don't flame me, do comment, do compliment, and do explain where, when, and how, I did something wrong, through email(short.circuit@grnet.com). I want to learn! ======================================================================= How to use: Instruction Set A:(for use only if you have a Quake skins patch designed for Reaper Bots, do NOT load any other patches) #1 Unzip the skins player.mdl and h_player.mdl(if there is one) into a directory called "progs" in the Quake main directory. #2 Unzip the demo files(*.DEM) into the Quake main directory. #3 Start Quake(or Q95). #4 When the first demo starts to play, press the tilde(~) key. #5 Wait for the Console(a little OR big orangish-brown box) to appear. #6 Type "Playdemo {demo name here)" and press enter. The demo names are "oldwest", "oldwest2", and "oldwest3". ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Instruction Set B:(for use WITHOUT a skins patch) #1 Unzip the demo files(*.DEM) into the Quake main directory. #2 Start Quake(or Q95). #3 When the first demo starts to play, press the tilde(~) key. #4 Wait for the Console(a little OR big orangish-brown box) to appear. #5 Type "Playdemo {demo name here)" and press enter.
