This have many advatanges, 1: You don't give away weapons to your enemies when you die. 2: You fool your enemies to think that you have no other weapons. 3: You look alot cooler with the axe ;) The weapon system: With shift you select the kind of close range weapon you want to use, you can select between shell weapons, nail weapons and the shaft. The script automaticlly selects the best weapon for each cathegory. When you then click the left mouse button, you fire the close range weapon currently selected. After releasing the mouse button, you swich back to the axe. There are also quick rocket (middle mouse button) and quick granade (space) scripts, also they swich back to the axe after firing. Movement: I use the well known W, S, A, D configuration. I believe this is the most used keys for movement in the Quake community. Also, I desided to add a circle strafe script made by NecroBoi, this makes it easier to doge around your enemies in close combat and round corners or ledges. Severs/talk script: This is a script witch uses the funktion keys (F1 - F12) and 1 - 0 for 1: Connecting to servers you define in the servers.dat and sereko.dat 2: Communicating with your team in clanfights or team servers using the say_team command With F12 you easilly toggle between theese scripts. Misc scripts: The spectator script simply toggles between the spectator modes in Quakeworld, so that you easilly can spectate a game without typing anything. There are also a console type script wich toggles the Quakeworld console types, this one is made by Tosh10 Preferences: The preferences I use are sort of special. For an example I use "d_mipcap" set to "3" wich gives a very low resolution mode. The advatanges of this is that the PLAYERS are not in low-res, only the enviroment, thus makeing it easier to see the players. The "FOV" value is also set to a higher (120) value than the default (90), this gives you a much bigger Field Of View, but you will not see the weapon and there will be some twiches in the enviroment. Things you also might want to change are the "noaim", "noskins", "sensitivity", "cl_rollangle" and "pushlatency" commands *** Notes *** This script DO have some pretty serious bugs at this early stage (version 1.0) and I do not know if there are a way to fix them. I will try though. For example I am having some troubles when the close range weapons stay the same after you die and when you are supposed to attack you do not have that weapon that was selected. This is a thing that you get used to very fast though, and after each time you die, you will shift once or twice to select the shell weapons. I would say this is a script for players that have played for a while and not direct newbies since the script uses things that may feel *VERY* strange for a newbie. *** Credits *** Tosh10 for the console type script, ideas and some other things :-) NecroBoi for the Circle strafe alias and for making his network script wich is a very good source for aliases JakFrost for making a really good config site Everybody on #quake.se on QuakeNet for being really cool and helpful :D *** Legal stuff *** Quake is a copyright of ID software You may distribute this file freely and you may also use my scripts from it however you want though if you do, I want credit for it.
