Biggest gameplay changes is that weapons swap faster now, Pistol shoots faster but must reload and Plasma Rifle can skip its recoil frames by staying in short bursts. All the assets I've put together here are free to be used, just credit me for the things I've done. Same for code, do what you want with it (though I would encourage you to be transformative with it). Thanks also VERY much to Hackfraud and Brxyz for doing the work on converting this to the DeHacked version. You guys are absolute warlocks! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fist: Perkristian's smooth frames. Woosh noise I think may be from Doom 3. That's all. Punches slightly faster if you have Berserk. Comment that extra state out if you hate it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chainsaw: Really nothing much to this. It's got some changed animation frames to look smoother. I think one or two of the frames may come from Perkristian's smooth set. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pistol: Originally the old pistol from Freedoom, then painted over basically completely into a 1911 Muzzleflash is based on the one from Shadow Warrior's Riot Shotgun Bang sound is from Doom 3, the Z-Sec pistol noise, it's sped up. Clicks and clacks are sourced from various Counter-Strike skins I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I don't know the exact source of most of them as I just have these old Counter-Strike folders I've sourced from frequently. I assume some are from various commercial games, but many are no doubt original work. Pickup sprite is painted over an old stencil then shrunk the fuck down. The gameplay concept with this pistol is to straight up just have it handle like the pistol from DN3D. I always liked the pistol in that. Does the same damage as the normal pistol 'Lorewise', it's a plain old 21st century commercial market 1911, stainless steel, older style of ring-shaped 'combat hammer', .45 Auto, 230gr FMJ doing 850fps Magazines are extended ones of 10rds (because that's an even number, is the only reason) Probably your personally procured sidearm. UAC seems to rock with .45 Auto ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shotgun: Original shotgun sprites by iD Software, digitizing and editing a Tootsie Toy Dakota capgun. Vented barrelshroud by Mike12, probably also the plastic stock piece. I colored the furniture gray, played around a bit with filters and stuff, drew some grip serrations on it. Put a pistolgrip on the pickup sprite, and edited the front accordingly. Bang sound is from Deathmatch Classic Enemy shotgun sound is mixed from Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior sound effects. Pickup sprite is edited from Doom's original. Recoil suggested by Redead-ITA I figure this to be a pretty bog standard 870 or 590 clone, one with a pistolgrip and no stock. Probably intended for breaching at some point, but a lot of UAC doors aren't easily breached with shot so they kind of just end up in security stations. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Super Shotgun: I looked around for a while, and the shiny supershotgun I used as a base is probably made by Batandy. I think there's a little bit of the Doom 64 SSG in there, and a bit of the Alpha rifle. The grip, top-strap, and lower receiver comes from one of DoomNukem's shotguns. Muzzleflash is from Doom Alpha Used a few hands from Perkristian's smooth SSG animation. The rib between the barrels was painted on there by me. The safety was painted by me. The front sight was drawn by me. The rear sight on the centered frame was painted by me, the one on the angled frame I tried to paint, but for whatever reason couldn't do it, I somehow couldn't get the perspective right, so Kegan had to touch it up for me. Thank you very much! The bead things on the rear of the chambers was repainted by me. The Greener style crossbolt on the left 'shell' of the receiver was painted on by me. The cross on the receiver is drawn by me. There's also a version with the Quake logo on the sprite sheet, as well as one with a skull (from Quake). I widened the space between the chambers and painted both frames of the ejector. Drew on the underlug(?) stuff under the barrels. Shells are based on the ones from Perkristian's smooth Super Shotgun frames, a grenade I did for a battle rifle with a launcher, and the shell from the Doom 2 hands. If you look at the whole shell on the sheet, it looks a bit lopsided and awkward, but whatever. I repainted the wood handguard. I repainted the pickup sprite. Bang sound is mixed from a bunch of Firearms 2.4 sounds and Goldeneye 64 sounds. The clicks and clacks are mixed from a variety of Firearms 2.4, Firearms 3.0, and Quake 2 sounds. Recoil also suggested by Redead-ITA This is a double-barreled, side-by-side shotgun without hammers. It has a sliding safety on the wrist of the stock, the action is opened by a side-pivoting lever that sits along the trigger guard. It locks up with a Greener style crossbolt. The stock has a straight kind of comb and grip, an old fashioned kind. It has automatic ejectors which toss out the shells as you break the action open (with speed). It has a simple notched blade rear sight, and the front sight is a brass bead slid into a base. It has a trigger for each barrel. This shotgun was not sawed off, it was made this way, the crowns of the muzzles are smooth and even. The barrels appear to be 10-Gauge, with no choke to them at all. It would probably be used with blackpowder loads. With the alchemy and magic used during forging, however, the steel is rather strong, and handles smokeless gunpowder fine. It doesn't have a finish like blueing, plating, anodizing, or parkerizing, yet does not rust. It may perhaps have had some significance to the religious institutions or groups in the world you visit in the 2048.wad, perhaps used by security, police, or warriors of some sort. There's a number of these guns, and they're all the same. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chaingun: Cobbled together from Alpha/Beta parts, receiver body, front-end/shroud, sights, etc. Magazine and magwell is hand drawn, and reused from an older subgun design I did. Rear end-cap on the receiver comes from a Carl Gustaf m/45 subgun. I don't know who rendered the original model, or who ripped it, but definitely not me. Stock is basically painted by hand over a stock shape from the Alpha guns. Charging handle is from the Hacx pistol. Muzzleflash is from the chaingun in the Atari Jaguar version of Wolfenstein 3D. Pickup sprite was made from a bunch of parts in Pimp My Gun thrown together in a vague shape then shrunk the fuck down and repainted. Dakka noise is the nailgun from Quake/Deathmatch Classic This subgun is probably from the early Cold War intended to be something that's kind of better than the M3A1 Greasegun .45 Auto, open-bolt, straight blowback, receiver made from a steel tube and a few plates Had sort of a similar idea to the Uzi and Zk-476 with the bolt telescoping around the barrel but doesn't make as clever of a use ouf of length as those guns do. the magazine well is on the side, to allow for going prone, though it's oddly far back making handling and maneuvering slightly awkward. Stock was originally made out of wood, these rearsenaled guns have it replaced with a plastic one. It does work fine though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rocket Launcher: Body is made from the Drunk Rocket Launcher and Double Rocket Launcher from Rise Of The Triad. Body was reshaded by Redead-ITA, thank you very much for that, it looked like trash before! Top of the barrel is from Hacx's BFG replacement. Scope is combined from the scope from Hideous Destructor's "Boss Rifle", by Matt, and a centered version of the Shadow Warrior railgun, by soniko. Drum is from a centered version of the Shadow Warrior riotgun, by Mike12. Bolt is made from the receiver of the subgun. Rocket shown loading is made from the rear piece of Matt's scope Muzzleflash is just Doom's rocket explosion. Rocket in flight is from Shadow Warrior, but shortened the fuck down and made red Same for pickup rocket. Rocketbox is based on Doom's rocketbox. Firetrail sprites is from Doom Roguelike Arsenal, edited slightly. Unsure of the origin of the explosion itself, I did not make it, only tweak it. Smoke trail is flame sprites from Rise Of The Triad Pickup sprite is vaguely based on Drunk Launcher's pickup sprite. Reused a bit of my code from my Immoral Conduct project for the trail and the explosion spray. KABOOM is mixed from Duke Nukem 3D's and Quake's explosion noises. Clicks and clacks are a bunch of Firearms 3.0 and Counter-Strike skin assets WOOSH I think is from Quake 2 THUMP is from Quake/Deathmatch Classic and Goldeneye 64 Cyber's rocket launch is from I think Half-Life 2 This is some kind of huge Go Fuck Yourselfinator A 50mm self-loading rocket propelled grenade launcher, feeding from a detachable drum magazine The 50mm rockets deploy their fins in flight. Presumably this weapon was designed for a manly action hero to use for battling demons from hell. This rocket launcher is actually a revision I initially made something that was similar, out of similar parts except the scope sat on top of the launcher which doesn't work for something you should be able to fire from your shoulder (even if Doomguy is a chad and doesn't) The new launcher is 200% better for the drum looking appropriately sized, the scope making more sense, and showing the action cycling ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Plasma Rifle: Main sprites are Doom sprites, recoil frames are from Perkristian's smooth set Muzzleflash is from Doom's Alpha, and the crackling lightning is from Heretic's thunderstaff thing Projectile impact and recoil frames also use these little crackling arcs. Projectile is from Shadow Warrior. Decal is made from this projectile. Projectile impact is from Castlevania : Symphony Of The Night Pewpew noises is mixed from Quake 3, Duke Nukem 3D, Starcraft, and some railgun noise I don't know. Zap noises are from Starcraft. Impact noise is from Doom 3 BLAM from the recoil frames is also from Starcraft I always thought the OG Plasma Rifle looked really cool. I figured I'd spruce it up with some new plasma. The front muzzle piece recoils with firing, and crackles with little high amperage arcs. Presumably the muzzle piece not only gets hot as fuck, but also conducts high voltages, so don't fucking touch it. Maybe the BLAM noise is air rushing into the muzzle of the gun after the plasma burned it all. Someone scientifically inclined is free to point out how little sense this makes. Possibly these plasma guns are some kind of prototype production run for field testing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BFG9000: At first, I didn't really have any ideas for how to do something with the BFG9000 I didn't have anything lying around which I could hurriedly adapt I figured there wasn't anything I could find which I could do much with. Then, looking through some older folders, I find an old weapon I think was put together by Eriance It's a combination of the Mauler from Strife, and the Chaingun and Plasma Rifle from Doom I looked at it and thought "What if I replaced the Chaingun barrels with that solid covered piece someone made?" Then I just started going to town on it. The tech doodad on top is by either Abbuw or IMX I've had it lying in my folders for a very long time but those are who DoomRL Arsenal suggested was the authors cable doodads on the left and right side is from Hacx's weapons Muzzleflash is based on a smoothed out version of Doom's alpha muzzle flash that someone made I didn't make the base of it, it's from a sheet of sprites, edited it a bunch the lightning bolts crackling over the muzzle and flash is from the powered up staff strike in Heretic Projectile is from Strife, the Photon Torpedo from the Mauler impact is from... I have no fucking idea actually I worked it a bunch though, altered shading and detailed it further, cleaned it up >ArtBeats ReelExplosions I - RE123 "X-shaped explosion with comets" Thanks to leileilol for identifying the source of the original effect at least. Zaps on the BFGExtra effect is from Strife Wave particle effects coming off the explosion I'm reasonably certain is by Eriance Pickup sprite is from that Plasma Repeater gun which the main sprite is based on with the BFG9000s... shoulder-brace things(?) Charging sound is made from Starcraft and Diablo sounds Shoot sound is from Starcraft Clack noise is from Starcraft (which you can't even hear) Explosion is from Starcraft and Diablo Crackle noise is from Diablo Pow noise is from Doom 3 I can't be arsed to think of any fluff or technical aspects for this thing it's the same thing as whatever the BFG9000 was, there, done. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Other Stuff: Truecolor version of the 'bosscube' is the shrinker zap from Duke Nukem 3D The fire is obviously Archie's fire dyed green, to match. New sounds are mixed from original Doom ones and Diablo ones. Secret sound is from Quake. New chaingun noise for Spideymind is Quake's super nailgun, because I love that booming noise. Thanks also from additional input from /vr/, and once again thanks to Hackfraud and Brxyz --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ********************************************************************************************************* ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
