The current DIGITAL released version of Micro Focus COBOL for DIGITAL UNIX is entitled in the product notes as Micro Focus COBOL V4.0A-1 Software Developer Suite. In subset naming, the install subset is mfce0140a. This release is provided as an ECO release. Micro Focus COBOL V4.0A Application Server for DIGITAL UNIX, used for the deployment of applications, has not been updated in this ECO release. License Management Facility (LMF) Information Before you can use Micro Focus COBOL Software Developer Suite, an LMF PAK must be registered and loaded (see the Micro Focus COBOL Installation Guide for DIGITAL UNIX). Purchase of a valid OSX license and installation of an LMF PAK is required when deploying Micro Focus based applications to production systems to ensure support and to conform with licensing and royalty obligations. Installation Information Installing Micro Focus COBOL requires DIGITAL UNIX Version 3.2. This version of the Micro Focus COBOL products has also been tested with DIGITAL UNIX Version 4.0. The distribution of the Micro Focus COBOL Developer Suite is pro- vided in the form of an ECO kit. The product is provided complete on the kit. The tar file of MFCE0140A.tar must be unpacked before using the setld utility to install the kit. Be sure to use the setld -d option to deinstall the product prior to the installation of this version. The documentation within the unpacked tar file includes this document, the Micro Focus COBOL Installation Guide for DIGITAL UNIX, and the Micro Focus COBOL Product Release Notes.
