What is uuparts?

uuparts is an enhanced version of the uudecode utility. uuparts is capable of decoding UUencoded files, even if they are split into many articles. It was especially designed to handle multi-part messages so that you can simply mark a set of articles, say 20, containing 4 binary files, each split into around 4-5 articles. All you do is save the articles and make sure that the different parts of each file are saved in correct order. uuparts will decode all 4 files, skipping the areas not relevant to the binary file.
Another method is to pipe many files as uuparts's standard input, and decode all of them on the fly.

However, uuparts is obsolete:

If you need or want a much better utility which also handles incorrectly ordered articles, you can try uudeview. uudeview was written by Frank Pilhofer <fp@informatik.uni-frankfurt.de> and is capable of decoding Mime attachments (Base64) as well as UUencoded and XXencoded files.
While uudeview is a much better program, it is also larger and slower, with some nagging behaviour. It is not meant to be a "pipe" type of command. So if you need only UU decoding abilities and fast, stick with uuparts.
