GENERAL INFORMATION

The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing

Dates: June 9-11, 1994

Location: Loews L'Enfant Plaza Hotel, 480 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W., Washington D.C.

Registration: The registration fee for the three day conference, including 3 luncheons, banquet and reception is $350 or $150 for students with valid I.D. SPACE IS LIMITED; early registration is recommended. Registrations will be handled on a first-come, first served vasis. After May 20, 1994, please confirm availability of space by calling 202-994-7238.

Refund Policy: Refunds requested in writing will be honored. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after May 31, 1994.

Scholarships and Travel Grants: Some number of full scholarships for students and travel grants for junior professionals are available. However, you must register in advance regardless of your application for funding. If you do not receive funding and therefore cannot attend, you may request a refund of your registration fee as noted above. The deadline for submitting grant applications is March 21, 1994.

Hotel Accommodations: Loews L'Enfant Plaza is ten minutes from Washington National Airport, five minutes from Capitol Hill and a few blocks from the Smithsonian Institution Museums. The hotel is equipped with a complete fitness center and an all-season, rooftop swimming pool.

To qualify for the special conference rate of $120 (single, $20 per extra person), please identify yourself as a participant in the George Washington University Grace Hopper conference. To ensure a room, reservations should be made by May 20, 1994.

Parking: Overnight guest parking is $12.50. For guests who do not have overnight accommodations a L'Enfant Plaza, the garage will extend an all-day parking pass for $12.50. These special rated tickets can be purchased through the Fron Office Cashier located in the hotel lobby. After 6pm during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday, there is a self "park and lock" arrangement for $5. (Parking prices are subject to change without notice).

Transportation: As a participant in the Grace Hopper Celebration, you are eligible for discounted rates through GW Travel, 1-800-333-1225. Please indicate that you will be attending the Grace Hopper Celebration (Code C-6)

How to become a Patron: You or your organization may become a patron of the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing at a number of different levels.

Strategic Patron at $25,000
Name and Logo listed in confernce booklet (if known before April 1) and in conference video.
Contributing Patron at $10,000
Listed in booklet and video.
Participating Patron at $5,000
Listed in booklet and video.
Patron at $1,000
Listed in booklet and video.
Individuals who wish to contribute $100-$1000 to the conference may become Personal Patrons. Their names will be listed in the conference booklet.
