The TL edit descriptor is a relative tabulation specifier. It takes
the following form:
TLn
- n
- Indicates that the next character to be transferred to or from
a record is the nth character to the left of the current
character. The value of n must be greater than or equal to
one.
If the value of n is greater than or equal to the current
character position, the first character in the record is specified.
