Adding New Objects to the DCE Control Program

If you have written a script as a formal dcecp object, you can make it available by including the new object in the same directory where other task objects reside. On UNIX systems this is often dcelocal/dcecp. As a rule, you should add the new object to each host in the DCE cell. DCE Administration Task Objects describes how you can use the dcecp hostdata object to copy scripts or other files to every host in a cell.

When you install a new script you must run the auto_mkindex utility to make the new object available to other users on the host. For more information about running the auto_mkindex utility, see Writing Scripts and dcecp Objects.
