DESCRIPTION:

This Softpaq creates the Solaris (x86) 10 Driver Update Diskette (DU) for 
HP Third Generation Smart Array Controllers. 

CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS RELEASE:

Added support for HP ProLiant Storage SNMP Agent.
		
How to use the softpaq:

1. Download the  Softpaq file SP31918.exe to  an empty directory on  
   a Microsoft Windows system.

2. From that directory, execute the Softpaq file:
   
        SP31918 [ENTER]

   Follow the on-screen instructions to extract the files.

3. Obtain 1 formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

4. Insert the diskette in the floppy drive and follow the onscreen instructions
   to create the DU.

5. The Driver Update Diskette (DU) has the  following  Reference Files :

   The README.TXT and ureadme files on Driver Update diskette (DU) contains the 
   same information that describes the procedure to load the Driver Update 
   diskette (DU).

   README.TXT - This file can be best viewed under a non-unix  Operating
		System.
   ureadme    - This file can be best viewed under  the Solaris  Operating
		System.

                Use the following commands to  view the ureadme  file  on
		Solaris Operating System.
		Check to see if Volume Management is running 
		# ps -ef | grep vold
		If Volume Management is running stop it. If not, skip
		this step.
		# /etc/init.d/volmgt stop
                Insert  the  Driver Update diskette (DU) into  the
		diskette drive.
                Mount the Driver Update diskette (DU) at  the  /mnt
		mount point:
		# mount -F pcfs /dev/diskette  /mnt
		Move to the mount point '/mnt'.
		# cd /mnt
		Use the vi command to open the ureadme file.
		# vi ureadme

How to use the tarball:

1. Download the CPQary3 distribution compressed tar file to a temporary local
directory, such as /var/tmp, on an existing Solaris workstation or server
equipped with a 3.5" 1.44MB floppy drive.

2. Uncompress and un-tar the compressed tar file to extract the CPQary3 package:
	$ cd /var/tmp
	$ gunzip CPQary3-x.yy-solaris10-i386.tar.gz
	$ tar xvf CPQary3-x.yy-solaris10-i386.tar

3. Review the license and release notes included in the distribution:
	$ cd CPQary3-x.yy-solaris10-i386
	$ more LICENSE.CPQary3
	$ more RELEASENOTES.CPQary3

You must agree to the terms of the license in order to install and use the
CPQary3 package and its components.

4. The DU image is contained within a self-extracting executable called
CPQary3.sedi which is included in the distribution. To extract the image to
a diskette, run CPQary3.sedi, passing it the path to the floppy drive (in order
to access the drive, it may need to be run as root):

	WARNING: All existing data on the target floppy diskette will be destroyed!
	$ pwd
	/var/tmp/CPQary3-x.yy-solaris10.i386
	$ su
	# ./CPQary3.sedi /dev/diskette0

Self-Extracting Solaris 10 Installation DU (3.5" 1.44MB)

By extracting the enclosed product(s), you are agreeing to

Notes: 

1.When using the contents of this Softpaq during the installation of 
Solaris (x86) 10, the installation may hang at the end of Solaris (x86) 10 
software CD1. To work around this issue, when prompted by the Solaris (x86) 10
installer to select the type of installation, 
select option 4 (4. Solaris Interactive Text (Console Session)), as shown below.


Select the type of installation you want to perform:

	1. Solaris Interactive
	2. Custom JumpStart
	3. Solaris Interactive Text (Desktop Session)
	4. Solaris Interactive Text (Console Session)


Select type of installation: 4

This issue is expected to be resolved in future Solaris (x86) 10 updates.

2.Modinfo command will display the HP Third Generation Array Controllers Driver (cpqary3) 
version as 1.50 though the actual version is 1.51.This shall be corrected in the next release of 
HP Third Generation Array Controllers Driver.
