DESCRIPTION: This release provides a Single Point Solution
User ROMPaq diskette for the ProLiant DL585 G1 Servers.

        =========================================================

        Updated to modify BIOS to support allowing the drivers for certain
        high performance PCI cards to optimize performance. The change
        is to program the cacheability of the system such that these
        drivers can program the system to cache their card's memory
        mapped I/O regions. While these drivers are non-standard, the
        BIOS change allows for improved performance with such PCI
        options cards. The Single-User BIOS will default the
        caching algorithm to enable this behavior. A future production
        BIOS will provide an RBSU option which can be enabled by the
        customer to allow drivers for these PCI cards to cache their
        memory mapped I/O regions (this will not be the default
        setting). This specifically allows for performance 
        improvements with the Quadrics Elan 4 PCI Card.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is SP28456.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP28456.EXE [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to
create diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP28456.EXE if you wish.
