DESCRIPTION:   This release provides updated system ROM images
               for the latest maintenance releases of HP
               DL585 Servers.

        ============================================

                Updated ROM to work-around an issue with the AMD Opteron
		processor. In certain situations, a REP MOVS instruction
		may lead to incorrect results. An incorrect address size,
		data size, or source operand segment may be used or a
		succeeding instruction may be skipped. The problem only
		occurs under very specific conditions. The work-around
		includes a microprocessor patch in the System ROM to fix
		the processor's functionality.

		Updated ROM to work-around an issue which could result in data
		corruption with PCI slots running in PCI-X 133 MHz mode.
		There is an issue with the AMD 8131 HyperTransport PCI-X Tunnel
		that could result in stale data on a split mode PCI-X transaction.
		This error only occurs under highly specific conditions. The problem
		does not occur unless PCI-X 133 MHz cards are installed in Slots 
		1 and 2.




HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is SP28213.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP28213 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to
create diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP28213.EXE if you wish.
