DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq contains the System BIOS image (BIOS Family 786B7) and local and 
remote BIOS flash utilities for the HP Workstation xw6200. System BIOS is 
operating system independent.

The BIOS Family and BIOS date can be determined by pressing F10 on the target 
computer during system Power On to run the Setup Utility, and then selecting 
File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file on a 
diskette or on a USB flash media device by selecting File/Save to Diskette. In 
order for a USB flash media device to be recognized by the system, the device 
must be attached before the computer is Powered On.

ENHANCEMENTS: 
- Enables Windows Device Manager to correctly report processor speeds. 
- Enables all types of memory calibration errors to now report five 
beeps/blinks.
- Adds new microcode for B1 and E0 stepping processors. 
- Increases minimum chassis fan speed for memory configurations greater than 3 
GB. 

FIXES: 
- Fixes an issue that could cause "blue screen" errors with certain MultiBay 
adapter configurations with both IDE channels disabled. 
- Fixes an issue that could prevent video output after graphics cards are 
changed. 
- Removes Port Control option from PCI Express Setup screen. 
- Corrects entries in the MultiProcessor (MP) table for proper operation with 
Microsoft Windows XP MultiProcessor Specification (MPS) Hardware Abstraction 
Layer (HAL).
- Removes Frequency Setting field in Setup, Advanced, Processor screen.

HOW TO USE: 
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to update 
the System BIOS.

3. If remote flashing is needed, refer to the remote utility documentation for 
instructions on creating a Remote ROM Flash job to flash the System ROM on 
target PCs on the network. 

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE 
UPGRADE PROCESS!
