DESCRIPTION:  This creates the ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for the 
Compaq Deskpro to upgrade the System ROM on Deskpro 4000/6000 models 
with a 686G5 Family ROM to the 12/03/96 version.  The ROM Family and ROM 
date can be determined by running F10 Setup.  Additions in this version 
include:
- Fixes problems with Western Digital hard drives to 
  eliminate 1780-Disk0 errors during bootup. 
- Checks for year 2000 rollover in INT 1aH.
- Allows extended memory reporting to 64 MB. 
- Supports Programmable Erase-Eaze keyboard, IDE Powerdrive, 
  and faster booting.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to 
that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP2703.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP2703 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a 
diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file 
SP2703.EXE if you wish.

5.  Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle system 
power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to select the 12/03/96 Compaq 
System ROM and flash the firmware.
