Sun Java System Access Manager version 7 2005Q4

PAOS Sample

    1. Introduction

    This explains how to compile and run the sample PAOS application.
    Follow these steps to run the sample program.

    The following variables are used in the sample :

    Solaris Sparc/X86  : <BEGIN_DIR> = <INSTALL_DIR>/SUNWam

    Linux : <BEGIN_DIR> = <INSTALL_DIR>/identity

    2. Instructions to run the sample

    1. Set these environment variables. These environment variables will be
       used for running the "make"/"gmake" command and "run" command. The
       "Makefile" and "run" are in the same directory where the sample files
       are located, and the directory is
       <BEGIN_DIR>/samples/phase2/paos".

       JAVA_HOME - Set this variable to your installation of JDK. It should
       be newer than JDK 1.3.1

    2. Go to the directory <BEGIN_DIR/samples/phase2/paos.Run gmake or make.

    3. Copy the PAOSClientServlet.class file to the
       <BEGIN_DIR/lib directory. Alternatively, you can make a
       soft-link in that directory back to this class.

    4. Now it is required to register the Sample servlet. Insert these lines
       (as described below) in the file
       <WEB_SERVER_INSTANCE_DIR>/is-web-apps/services/WEB-INF/web.xml.
       These lines should be put just after the last </servlet> tag.

       <servlet>
       <servlet-name>PAOSClientServlet</servlet-name>
       <description>PAOSClientServlet</description>
       <servlet-class>PAOSClientServlet</servlet-class>
       </servlet>

       These lines should be put just after the last </servlet-mapping> tag.

       <servlet-mapping>
       <servlet-name>PAOSClientServlet</servlet-name>
       <url-pattern>/PAOSClientServlet</url-pattern>
       </servlet-mapping>

    5. Restart the server.

    6. Modify the "run" script to reflect your particular installation.

    7. Type "run" on command line. This will actually run PAOSServer program.

    You will see the output from the PAOSServer program. You can also see the
    output from PAOSClientServlet program in the web server's log file (for Sun
    Java System Web Server, it would be the "errors" file in logs/ subdirectory
    under the web server instance directory).
