System Requirements
=================== 

* On Solaris(TM) SPARC(R):
  
	-  Solaris 8, 9

* On Solaris x86

	-  Solaris 9    
	
* On Linux x86
	
	- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server 2.1, 3
	
	  GlibC version 2.2.4-24 and Kernel 2.4.9 are supported.

* On Microsoft Windows, Intel 32 Bit:

        - Windows 2000 Server, SP2
        - Windows 2000 Advanced Server, SP2
        - Windows 2000 Professional, SP2
        - Windows XP Professional
	- Windows 2003

 Note: On Windows XP and Windows 2003, only Sun Java System Application Server
 Standard Edition 7 2004Q2 Update 1 is available. 
 

Install Prerequisites
=====================
 
* Solaris(TM) 8 and 9 SPARC:

      Solaris 8 users must have the Sun recommended patch
      cluster installed. The patch cluster is available at:

      http://sunsolve.sun.com/ under "Product Patches".

      In addition, the following patches must be installed for
      Solaris 8 and Solaris 8, Update 7 users:

        109326-06, 1108993-23, and 3110934(for packaged-based installation only)

      These patches can be retrieved from the patchfinder page
      located at the following URL:

        http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=patches/patch-access

Installation 
============

 If you have root privileges, use the install program in RootInstall
 directory. If you do not have root privileges or do not want to install as 
 root, then use the install program in NonRootInstall directory. The default
 install folders will be  different for root and non-root installation. 

   To run the GUI-based installation program, run the "setup"
    program without any options.

	./setup
   

    To run the terminal-based, interactive installation program,
    run the "setup" program with the "-console" option.  
    For example:


        ./setup -console

    To install the product without user input on multiple machines, use the "-silent"
    option.  
    For ecample: 
	
	./setup -silent <config_file>

    The configuration file stores your input when you perform an installation with the
    following command: 
    
    For GUI based install: ./setup -savestate 

    For command line based install: ./setup -console -savestate
