  4. Select a product or a discovery method from the following list:
    • Devices from IP List (the default)--All devices that have been entered in the /etc/deviceIP.conf file are discovered. Depending on the size of the monitored configuration, this process might take a few minutes.
    • Inband discovery--All in-band devices, including internal disks, Sun StorEdge A5x00 arrays, and tape devices are discovered.
    • Sun StorEdge 3310 and 3510 array
    • Sun StorEdge 6020 array
    • Sun StorEdge A3500FC array
    • Sun StorEdge D2 array
    • Sun StorEdge T3 array
    • Subnet--uses SNMP to query and discover supported switches and arrays. Sun StorEdge systems, such as the Sun StorEdge Solution series systems, can be discovered using either Devices from IP List or Subnet.

    Note -

Device discovery for the Sun StorEdge 3510 Fibre Channel and Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI array can not be performed using Subnet but may be performed using the /etc/deviceIP.conf file, as it can with other devices. The valid format for the Sun StorEdge 3510 FC array is: IP Address; Name; Device Type. (for example, 10.0.0.1 fc3510 3510).

  5. Click Start Discovery.
