The icons shown in Topology Help symbolize the various storage devices
that > monitors. Inside each storage device icon are boxes that
represent disks inside the arrays, ports, and 'Other' components at the bottom of the device icons.
The 'Other' component category includes a variable set of boxes that
represent components of the enclosures that are monitored:
- A = Alerts
- B = Backplane
- F = Fan
- K = Links
- l = loopcard (on Sun StorEdge T3+ array)
- L = LUN
- M = Midplane
- N = Network Terminal Concentrator (NTC)
- O = Other
- P = Power
- T = Temp
- V = Volume
Notes:
- Fibre Channel errors are represented by red links with the word 'fc' in re
d.
This means that CRC or ITW were found at either end of the link in red.
Fibre Channel errors are usually intermittent and do no represent a hard failure.
When a hard failure occurs, a switch port going offline for example, fibre channel
counters are ignored.
- Links that are labeled 'mpxio' in the Topology could indicate one of the followin
g:
- If a RED 'mpxio' label is displayed in the topology, a Sun StorEdge Traffic Manag
er failover has occurred on this path.
- If a green 'mpxio' label is displayed in the topology, a Sun StorEdge Traffic Man
ager failover has occurred on this path, but was later corrected.
- The Sun StorEdge D2 array unit has 12 slots for disk drives. These slots are accessed
through the front door of the Sun StorEdge D2 array. In the topology view, these 12
slots are
represented by two rows of squares:
- Row 0 represents the six disk drives on the left side of the unit.
- Row 1 represents the six disk drives on the right side of the unit.
- Row 1, slot 5 is the rightmost slot in the Sun StorEdge D2 array enclosure.
