User Acct (Overview)

DESCRIPTION
"User Acct" indicates the default setting for userid accounting as configured
in the Monitor Control Table (MCT).

VALUES
The values for "User Acct" can be one of the following:

N - Do not generate userid accounting records
Y - Generate userid accounting records

INTERPRETATION
The "User Acct" value does not necessarily tell whether user accounting is on
or off. Instead, "User Acct" specifies the value used for an accounting setting when a user has a default accounting setting in the Sign-on Table (SNT).

CONCLUSIONS
If "SIT Acct" is 'N', then no userid accounting is available under any
circumstances. If "SIT Acct" is 'Y', then the MCT setting ("User Acct") and SNT
accounting settings determine whether or not Sun MTP generates accounting records
for a particular user. When "SIT Acct" is 'Y' and "User Acct" is 'Y', Sun MTP
generates accounting records for all users with a default accounting setting in
the SNT. An accounting setting in the SNT of 'Y' overrides the value in "User
Acct". Sun MTPScan does not show the accounting status for individual users.
