TX Acct (Overview)

DESCRIPTION
"TX Acct" indicates the default setting for transaction accounting as configured
in the Monitor Control Table (MCT).

VALUES
The values for "TX Acct" can be one of the following:

N - Do not generate transaction accounting records
Y - Generate transaction accounting records

INTERPRETATION
The "TX Acct" value does not necessarily tell whether transaction accounting is
on or off. Instead, "TX Acct" specifies the value used for an accounting setting
when a transaction has a default accounting setting in the Program Control Table
(PCT).

CONCLUSIONS
If "SIT Acct" is 'N', then no transaction accounting is available under any
circumstances. If "SIT Acct" is 'Y', then the MCT setting ("TX Acct") and PCT
accounting settings determine whether or not Sun MTP generates accounting records
for a particular transaction. When "SIT Acct" is 'Y' and "TX Acct" is 'N',
Sun MTP does not generate accounting records for each transaction with a default
accounting setting in the PCT. An accounting setting in the PCT to 'Y' overrides
the value in "TX Acct". Sun MTPScan shows the PCT accounting setting for each trans-
action in the "Acct" column of the PCT Screen.
