Host (ISC)

DESCRIPTION
The "Host" field depends on the type of communications protocol used to
access a remote system. If Brixton, the "Host" is the name of the
host machine on which the LU6.2 server is running. If TCP/IP is the
communications protocol, "Host" is the name of the remote system where
a Sun MTP/CICS region is running. No value is displayed for DCL method of
communications.

VALUES
This field should display the host name of a machine on your network. Sun MTPScan
displays, and Sun MTP uses, a maximum of 16 characters for this field. If
the field is left blank, Sun MTP uses the name of the system that Sun MTP
is running on by default.

INTERPRETATION
Sun MTP uses the host name to open a connection between the Sun MTP process and
the LU6.2 server or remote region. The "Host" is defined in the System Entries
portion of the Terminal Control Table (TCT).

CONCLUSIONS
If the host name is incorrect, the connection will fail and a message
containing the return code will be appended to the $KIXSYS/unikixmain.log
file.
