Partner (ISC)

DESCRIPTION
The LU6.2 uses the "Partner" datapoint to define the name of the remote CICS
region. Sun MTP calls the LU6.2 command specifying "Partner" and "Mode" to
uniquely describe a connection between the LU6.2 server and the remote CICS
region.

VALUES
The name of the "Partner" contains a maximum of 8 characters. The datapoint
should contain the same value as the entry's Ptnr_LU Name field in the Terminal
Control Table. This is the NAME parameter in the PTNR_LU directive in the LU6.2
configuration file for a particular connection.

INTERPRETATION
Sun MTP uses the "Partner" value, along with the value from the "Mode" datapoint,
to allocate an LU6.2 session for function shipping.

CONCLUSIONS
If the values in either the "Partner" or the "Mode" columns are in error, the
LU6.2 allocate fails and the EXEC CICS command returns SYSIDERR as an exception
response.
