Mode (ISC)

DESCRIPTION
The "Mode" defines the LU6.2 mode group used by the LU6.2 code to converse
across a connection. Several mode groups may be defined for a particular
connection.

VALUES
The "Mode" is a name that identifies a mode group with a maximum of 8
characters. The datapoint should contain the same value as the entry's Mode Name
field in the Terminal Control Table. This is the NAME parameter of the MODE
directive in the LU6.2 configuration file for the particular connection.

INTERPRETATION
The "Mode" parameter specifies a set of sessions on a connection that LU6.2
uses to converse with a remote system. There must be a mode group defined on the
remote system with the same name as the "Mode" datapoint.

CONCLUSIONS
Sun MTP uses the "Mode" and "Partner" parameters on the lu62_mc_allocate
command for outbound communication. If these parameters are in error then
the EXEC CICS command will fail with a SYSIDERR exception response.
