Oracle is a complex product and the configuration possible through SunPlex Manager is limited. You must have a thorough understanding of Oracle before using the SunPlex Manager installation. See the Oracle documentation for details. |

You must configure Sun Cluster HA for Oracle as a failover service.
For a more advanced configuration, you might be able to manually customize your configuration after SunPlex Manager completes the installation. See the Oracle documentation for details.
To completely customize your Sun Cluster HA for Oracle installation,
following the instructions in the SunCluster 3.0 Data Services Installation and Configuration
Guide or the Oracle documentation.
Oracle requires special settings for kernel variables that are related to
shmsys and semsys. These variables are set in the /etc/system file and changes are activated after the system is rebooted. If you have not rebooted since you last modified these settings, reboot the cluster nodes before you begin the Sun Cluster HA for Oracle installation. See the Oracle installation documentation for more information.
Note: If no entries exist for the shmsys and semsys variables in the /etc/system file when the SunPlex Manager packages are installed, default values for these variables are automatically put in the /etc/system file. The system must then be rebooted. Check Oracle installation documentation to verify that these values are appropriate for your database. |

When you exit the Cluster Manager or click Back in your
browser window after you begin installing, the data service
disconnects you from the installation. This disconnection can
result in an incomplete installation because of insufficient
information or an unresolved error message.
To clean up an incomplete installation, you must remove the application files and any resources and resource groups that were created. |
