Getting Started With Configuring Client Applications

You protect sensitive applications running on the local host by configuring them to require login with a smart card. The default application to be protected is dtlogin, the application that controls login to the Common Desktop Environment (CDE).

Before Configuring a Client Application

You must have:

  1. Added a card reader to the local host, as explained in Configuring a Card Reader.
  2. Configured the OCF server defaults, as explained in Configuring the OCF Server.
  3. Configured authentication on the host, as explained in Configuring Authentication on the Host.
