File Monitoring
A file monitoring processing module performs matching and frequency
analysis of specified string patterns. The main use of file monitoring
is to review the /var/adm/messages file for A5x00-related
problems that cannot be directly determined via the management interface.
Alarms or log messages are sent when detecting a match. The following string pattern is used to determine when the GBIC's fibre channel is offline:
"socal0. . . 9: port 0. . . 1: Fibre Channel is OFFLINE"
An alarm of CAUTION severity is sent if this message occurs three times within one hour.
An alarm of CRITICAL severity is sent if this message occurs ten times within 24 hours.
